Discover the Wonders of Scuba Diving in Chumphon, Thailand

Nestled along Thailand’s stunning Gulf Coast, Chumphon is a hidden gem for scuba diving enthusiasts. Often overshadowed by more famous destinations like Phuket or Koh Phi Phi, Chumphon offers untouched underwater beauty, vibrant marine life, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for both beginners and seasoned divers.

Why Dive in Chumphon?

Chumphon is renowned for its clear waters, diverse coral reefs, and abundant marine life. Its relatively undeveloped coastline means fewer crowds and a more authentic diving experience. The region’s strategic location at the gateway to the Similan Islands and Koh Tao makes it an ideal starting point for exploring some of Thailand’s best dive sites.

Dive trips depart from Pak Nam Chumphon, which is the estuary to the Gulf of Thailand. This was quite the experience in itself, as you make your way down past the fisheries and watch local life as they prepare for fishing trips.

We recently dived at Lak Ngam, Hin Pae Koh Ngam, and Koh Nham Noi/Ruea HTMS Prap 741 with Got Chumphon Divers. We were surprised by the abundance of marine life and the visibility at the end of the season. I thoroughly enjoyed diving with a dive centre in Bangkok. NB: If diving with Go Chumphon Divers, you should have a Thai partner or be able to communicate in Thai.
