Koh Lipe – Truly a paradise Island
Koh Lipe (Lepea) is a Thai island in the Andaman Sea, close-by the Malaysian border.
Koh Lipe is part of the Tarutao National Marine Park, which is populated with small islands and known for its coral-rich waters and stunning turquoise waters.
The island has sandy white beaches, Pattaya Beach, Cozy Cove beach, Sunrise beach, Sunset beach and Sanom beach. Koh Lipe max length is 2km, its max width 2.5 kms making its very easy to get around the whole Island is 1 day, by foot.
The vibe around Koh Lipe is very chilled, and made up with small local villages in between each beach location. If choosing to walk around the Island you will surly come across a village or two.
At night the Walking Street is a popular place to be, abundance of restaurants, cool bars and coffee shops. Souvenir shops shops selling items different than seen on other Thai Islands.
Food and drinks are slightly higher than most Thai Islands, but this is simply because all the goods shipped onto Koh Lipe are via long-tail boat from Malaysia or Pak Bara.
Outside the walking Street you can find low budget Thai restaurants.
Koh Lipe’s streets are very narrow therefore cars or trucks are rarely spotted. Around the Island you can find motorbike taxis with sidecar seating for luggage and people. Taxi cost per person 50b to anywhere on the Island.
The sunsets on Koh Lipe are spectacular and best seen from Sunset beach and Cozy Cove beach. Sunrise is worth getting up for and can be seen from Sunrise beach.
Must see places – On Sunrise beach you will find the coolest bar, with chill-out music and a cool vibe – Sea La Vie beach bar.
Castaway Bungalows just 3 mins walk, from Sea La Vie, serves delicious food from their menu. The vibe here is very cool, and comfortable seating.

Bennys Bar @ Cozy Cove for sunset. An amazing place to chill out and take fabulous videos and photos whilst watching the sun go down.

Sunset beach – Has the best snorkeling off shore, for those not choosing to take a long-tail boat snorkeling tour.
Koh Lipe is popular for diving and snorkeling from shore or around the Tarutao National Park. The crystal clear waters and abundance of marine life makes it the perfect location for snorkeling trips.
Getting to Koh Lipe – Koh Lipe is linked with small island around Trang and making connecting speedboat transfers easy.
Alternatively you can choose by air with a budget airline, joint bus/ferry ticket from Bangkok, Hat Yai, or Trang. Or hiring a car and driving from Krabi, Phuket, Khao Lak, and Trang to Pak Bara Pier. Pak Bara pier offers daily transfers via speedboat 1.5 hrs.
